Slow afternoons, shared tables, and pasta made by hand in the heart of the Nuy Valley.
Penhill Farm is a historic Cape Dutch estate tucked between mountains, fynbos and vineyards in the Nuy Valley near Robertson. It is a place made for unhurried cooking, long lunches and the kind of conversation that only happens around a generous table.
Our monthly pasta classes bring this spirit into the kitchen. Under the guidance of our chef, you will mix, knead, roll and shape fresh pasta before sitting down to enjoy what you have created, paired with seasonal flavours from the valley.
Each pasta class is designed to feel like a relaxed country gathering rather than a formal lesson.
Welcome drink on arrival and a short introduction to the afternoon
Demonstration of the dough, then hands-on mixing, kneading and resting
Rolling pasta sheets and shaping a selection such as tagliatelle, pappardelle or filled parcels
Simple, generous sauces using seasonal ingredients and local produce
A shared, sit-down meal in true Penhill style, with the option to order wines from nearby farms
You do not need any prior experience in the kitchen. Everything is explained step by step and our team is on hand throughout to help.
The pasta class is ideal for:

Children are welcome as long as they are comfortable working in the kitchen alongside adults.

Numbers are limited to keep the experience relaxed and personal, so early booking is recommended.
If you would like to linger a little longer, you can stay on at Penhill and turn your pasta class into a country escape. The estate offers a manor house and cottages, sweeping lawns, pools, a dam, tennis court and quiet corners for reading or walking.
Spend the morning exploring nearby wine farms, arrive for your afternoon in the kitchen, then sleep over and wake up to birdsong and big skies.

You can also let Chef Kaylin know if you have a group enquiry, special dietary requirements or would like to arrange a private pasta class for a celebration or corporate event.
Once you press Submit, a Pro Forma Invoice will open on a refreshed page. Please scroll to the bottom of the page to view your invoice. The invoice contains our bank details for payment of the required deposit to secure your booking. The invoice is printable and can be saved to your computer, a copy will also be emailed to you.
Please note that your final bill must be settled using a Credit or Debit card. Penhill Farm does not accept Cash Payments on site.
