At Penhill we have various hiking trails starting on our farm, all boasting magnificent views that cater to both casual walkers and seasoned trekkers, offering a chance to experience the area’s rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes.

Our 1.5km trail is ideal for families looking to spend 30 – 60 minutes (depending on your pace and explorations along the way) ambling through nature. Starting at Peppertree Cottage, this trail leads to a picturesque viewing point, perfect for a refreshment stop to soak up the surrounding beauty.

Our 5km trail is for those seeking a bit more of a challenge and requires a moderate level of fitness. This 60 – 90-minute trek also begins at Peppertree Cottage, ascends the mountain, and concludes at a breathtaking viewpoint, rewarding hikers with stunning vistas before making their way back down again.

Our 7km trail is another option for the fit and adventurous, offering a 1.5-hour journey that starts at Peppertree and climbs up the mountain. The return route passes a charming farm and numerous viewpoints, each showcasing nature’s splendour.

The ultimate adventure awaits on our 9km trail, a two-hour hike perfect for those who relish a cool dip at the end of their trek. Beginning at Penhill gate, this route winds through a ravine, past a dam and sloping vineyards, culminating at a rock pool with breathtaking scenic views. This route is perfect for moderate fitness levels and above.

Join us this winter where we invite you to rejuvenate your body with breathtaking views and fresh air on our 9km hike, and nourish your soul thereafter with a delicious, country style Sunday lunch.

On the 9^th, 16^th, and 23^rd of June from 6:30 – 15:00 we will be hosting a Hike and Feast Sunday Fun Day for all families and friends from the area and the greater Cape Town region.

A shuttle service will be available departing from the V&A Waterfront at an additional cost.

Accommodation for the weekend starting from R1950 per person sharing should you wish to spend the whole weekend with us. Hike and Sunday lunch included.
