The position
We are looking for an ambitious Hospitality/Commercial Manager who will help us organize the daily operations and sales of our facilities. You will be responsible for all commercial activities and coordinating and supervising our staff members and lead them by example to ensure the highest quality services. Together with our chef you will lead the daily operations of the farm, guest cottages and restaurant.
Commercial Manager duties and responsibilities
- Create sales opportunities via personal sales
- Having a personal network is an important prerequisite
- Coordinate social media activities
- Hire qualified personnel when needed
- Organize and coordinate staff and operations
- Supervise and oversee staff members
- Manage budgets and approve expenditures
- Develop and communicate standard operating procedures
- Establish standards for customer service in line with the Penhill brand
- Ensure adherence to relevant legal, health and safety regulations and guidelines
- Keep and update relevant documents and records
- Align daily operations with Dutch based management
Commercial Manager requirements
- Previous working experience as hospitality/commercial manager for a minimum of 5 years
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans. Any other European language will be beneficial.
- Working experience in hospitality sales and familiar working with agents.
- Knowledge of the best practices and procedures for customer service, hospitality management, restaurant operations
- Hands on experience with MS Office and relevant software (eg. ERP / 365Villas)
- Excellent communication, leadership, relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Problem-solving attitude
- Very proactive in mind and behavior
- BA in hospitality management or similar relevant field
